The H5 Clade tool was developed at CDC based on the approach LABEL (LABEL: fast and accurate lineage assignment with assessment of H5N1 and H9N2 influenza A hemagglutinins. Shepard SS, Davis CT, Bahl J, Rivailler P, York IA, Donis RO. PLoS One. 2014 Jan 23;9(1):e86921)
The tool assigns H5 HA clades through the use of hidden Markov model profiles and support vector machine training to hierarchically classify clades by their similarity to pre-defined lineages set forth by WHO/FAO/OIE H5N1 evolution working group. All H5 data entered into GISAID is assigned a clade. Additionally you will be able to select H5 Clades as search option.
